BiPAP
BIPAP provides two additional airway pressures: PEEP to keep the alveoli stented open for gas-exchange, plus inspiratory support which increases inspiratory volume in the tiring patient. Primarily used in COPD patients but can be considered in any type-2 respiratory failure. We have covered both mask types in these checklists.
