Dr Sonja Allen
Dr Sonja Allen is an Emergency Medicine Consultant at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. She has been responsible for Tissue Donation from the Emergency Department since the opening of the QEUH in 2015.  She started working with NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) in the following year and is now the Clinical Lead in Organ Donation for Emergency Medicine in Scotland.

Neil Healy

Neil Healy is the Lead Nurse for Tissues, cells and advanced therapeutics at the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service and leads the dedicated Tissue Donor Coordinator team in Scotland. 

Neil currently represents the interests of tissue donation on the Scottish Government’s Organ Donation and Transplantation Group and Joint United Kingdom (UK) Blood Transfusion and Tissue Transplantation Services Professional Advisory Committee on Tissue and Cellular Therapy Products. 

For the last year, Neil has worked with the Scottish Government’s Human Tissue (Authorisation) (Scotland) Act 2019 Implementation Team Meeting to introduce the new Deemed Authorisation Legislation in Scotland.
