Lower Arm Plaster

The old technique of applying a layer of wet cling bandage is no longer required and can lead to shrinkage (and risk of compartment syndrome) when it dries and shrinks up to 7% in circumference (resulting in a reduction in up to 49% in volume). 

Remember to apply the slab on the side that the distal fragment has displaced to. So a dorsal slab (as shown here) for a colles fracture and a volar slab for a smiths fracture.
